Mzansi's colonial style churches: a part of history or history we should part with?

The more than 1000 kilometer distance between Johannesburg and Grahamstown is lined with many similar small towns. Most were established over 100 years ago and have at least one colonial-style church that occupies a prominent street.
Here's a look at some of them through my lens. Yes, please do enjoy my photographic skills. But also share with me what these images evoke in you. I could not help but notice a pattern. There seems to be a sustained effort to keep these symbolic pieces of architecture well taken care of. Hell, in some towns, that church is the only building that still looks good.

Noupoort, Northern Cape.
Cradock, Eastern Cape.

Grahamstown, Eastern Cape.
Fort Beaufort, Eastern Cape.
Jamestown, Eastern Cape.
Aliwal North, Eastern Cape.
Smithfield, Free State.
Winburg, Free State.
Featured here are churches in Noupoort, Grahamstown, Cradock, Fort Beaufort, Jamestown, Aliwal North, Smithfield, and Winburg. There are, however, a lot more such churches strewn across the country.

What do you make of them? A part of history or history we need to part with?
