Solange Knowel’s PVC-sculpted avant-garde 2018 Met Gala outfit introduced me to Iris Van Herpen. However, it wasn't until I saw renowned stylist June Ambrose wearing a dress from their ‘Ludi Naturae’ Couture collection that I became really intrigued by the brand's design aesthetic.
The 'About' section of their website describes the designer's intent as "to blend the past and the future into a distinct version of the present day by infusing technology and traditional couture craftsmanship." Having spent hours gawking at their Instagram page, I believe that the Dutch designer has succeeded. There are a LOT of OMG outfits, but I went with the frocks worn by brown girls...because melanin 😊😻😃 Take a look!
