The Sisterhood Series, 3 of 3: Different flowers from the same garden

Princesses Keamogetswe and Kerotse Kekana are the last sisters - for now- to feature in The Sisterhood Series. Yes, they are actually real princesses! Their grandfather is part of a long lineage of Amandebele chiefs, which to date seats at Majaneng, Hammanskraal under The Amandebele-a-Moletlane Tribal Authority.

There's something about being bound by blood which makes glaring differences between siblings seem inconsequential.  From the very first glance, it's clear that Keamogetswe and Kerotse are different. But they always find their way back to common ground, they are each others #DayOneNiggas; some sort of pact that come what may, they've got each other's backs.
My sister is...
Keamo: My best friend. She's intelligent, beautiful, fabulous, fun and caring, stylish and so photogenic! Living with her in the same house is like having a slumber party that never ends. We talk about anything. I watch her change into different outfits until she finally decides on which one to wear while I only decide what to wear while taking a bath the next morning.
Kerotse: Extremely humorous, very loving and free spirited.
Having her as part of my childhood was...
Keamo: Funny! She was the tiniest member of our family and never used to eat much, only nama le atchar and she still does it to this day. I am 6 years older than her so when I had just started high school, she was still in primary. I didn't understand then why she ran to me every time I came back from boarding school. Being the baby that she was, she would ask the most obvious questions and I, as the adolescent teenager, would respond with a “duh!” I loved having her follow me around though. I realised how much I missed and loved her when she later moved to live with my aunt.
Kerotse: Interesting because she always made sure she was two steps ahead of me. You know when you are a child and run to ask your sister the most obvious of questions, only to be given a “duh!” in return. That was my sister! *inserts sigh*.
#DayOneNiggas.
She makes my life:
Keamo: Fun. She always plans the wildest trips where we end up having the greatest time. Sometimes plans my outfits for those trips and parties too! As cliché as it sounds, I can’t imagine my life without her. Sunday mornings, I cook she cleans. It’s something that happens every weekend when she's around. Then, we either spend the rest of the day watching movies or reading.
Kerotse: Complete, I actually never thought we'd become as close as we are today.
She is really good at...
Keamo: Mingling. She gets us into the VIP section of any event. When I was her age, I had never been to half the places that she has been to. I still don't know how she does it but I am not complaining. And she's really great at being a second mom and the best aunt to my daughter Kganya-Entle.
Kerotse: Cooking and is a wonderful mother and friend to her friends.
These sisters lean on each other to face whatever lies behind closed doors.
We are different because...
Keamo: She tells it like it is, whether you are a stranger or a friend. A spade remains just that! I just prefer to be silent.
Kerotse: Besides the obvious personality traits, I don't think we are that different. We both live life to the fullest and her sap is in my sap.
Her favourite things are...
Keamo: Going out, partying, reading, dancing and travelling.
Kerotse: Listening to dancehall music, hanging out with great company and creating memories.
Kerotse loves to pout and pose. She often cajoles her sister to join in.

I lover her because...
Keamo: She's my day one Nigga (a term I learnt from her) she's been with me from the very beginning and through it all. Not once have I felt like she didn't have my back in any situation.
Kerotse: She is irreplaceable and she's been there from Day One. #DayOneNigga.
We sometimes fight because...
Keamo: She won't listen to what anyone has to say! And oh no! She is never wrong. Most of our fights are silent and are resolved just like that. No grudges.
Kerotse: We are girls *duh* and we love each other.
Standing at the feet of giants: Beyers Naude towers over the sisters much like their grandfathers name does.
She crosses my mind when... plays on the radio because...
Keamo: Mmost Hip Hop, RnB and dancehall tracks play on the radio. When she falls in love with a song she sends it to me and I give my feedback, then those songs somehow never leave my playlist until I end up loving them. She and my brother introduced me to hip hop. So many memories too many to mention! I love watching them go crazy and dance.
Kerotse::Asa's Bibanke plays because it reminds her of life's tranquilness and peace.
Different flowers from the same garden.
Budget constraints aside, if I could spoil her I would...
Keamo: Get her on a cruise to Mauritius or a trip to Jamaica! Or fly her to the US and get her as many Jordan's as her heart desires:-) Oooh and a huge shopping spree! Shoes and everything. A house overlooking the beach where I can always go visit.
Kerotse: I would go to the moon and write her name on it in a heart shape. On my way back to earth,I would grab one star so she will never forget how much she means to me and to reassure her that there is no one in this world who could ever take her place.
They've got each other's back.
I've had so much fun doing this series. The feedback that I've received has also been phenomenal, often making heart twerk with joy! So, this is probably not the last you will hear about The Sisterhood Series. I do hope though, that these stories have touched you as much as they have me. Please feel free to share them with your sister, brother or friend as well as share your thoughts with me.
